The Ultimate Balance Trainer:
Biofeedback device improves key athletic skill

World-class athletes depend on balance and fluid, efficient movement for power, control, responsiveness and injury prevention. However, balance is much harder to teach or learn than the other components of the well-rounded athlete: technique, physical conditioning and mental attitude. The Ultimate Balance Trainer is a recently introduced miniature device that uses motion sensing and biofeedback to help athletes improve their balance and make an immediate impact on their game.

Despite its sophisticated technology, The Ultimate Balance Trainer is simple and intuitive to use: it is quiet when you move in balance and it tells you, in a natural human voice, when you move off balance, even detecting subtle imbalances that are invisible to the wearer or observers. It has 16 proficiency level settings to provide appropriate feedback for all athletes from beginners to touring pros.

“Balance is the essential link between technical ability and performance, but is very difficult to teach,” stated Vic Braden, former ATP Tour player and the world’s best-known tennis author and sports scientist. “The Ultimate Balance Trainer is an idea whose time has come. It will soon be the standard for developing balance in tennis and all athletics.”

Tennis players and coaches throughout the world are already using the Ultimate Balance Trainer to improve their own performance and that of their students.  When Anne Smith, winner of a record 10 Grand Slam championships in women’s and mixed doubles, began her comeback to professional tennis after a 14-year hiatus, she turned to balance training and the Ultimate Balance Trainer to help her adjust to today’s bigger, stronger and harder-hitting players. “The Ultimate Balance Trainer has been invaluable in improving my footwork and adding more power to my forehand.” says Smith, “I wear it for the first 15 minutes of every practice session. After only a few weeks, the difference in my game was amazing.”

“The Ultimate Balance Trainer is ideal either as part of a lesson plan or during individual practice,” says Rhys Thomas, a 25-year USPTA Professional and Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do who developed the original concept behind the Ultimate Balance Trainer. “Balance is a part of tennis that can be improved and athletes are finding that the impact of that fundamental improvement can advance them to levels they never thought possible.”

The Ultimate Balance Trainer costs $195.00 and includes one Ultimate Balance Trainer unit, a battery charger, two headbands with Velcro strips, two stick-on Velcro patches for the user’s own headgear, a demonstration video on CD-ROM an instruction manual.  The Ultimate Balance Trainer and accessories can be purchased directly from Ultimate Balance at www.ultimatebalance.com. The company web site also offers instructional videos, articles, suggested balance drills and testimonials from current users. Ultimate Balance can be reached at 1-888-225-2620.
