WILSON JOINS EFFORT TO HOST WORLD’S LARGEST TENNIS LESSON

300 Youth Attend Tennis Lesson in Chicago on July 22

Wilson Racquet Sports has been active in promoting the game of tennis to youth and their commitment expaned when they teamed up with tennis professional Mark Miller to host the world’s largest tennis lesson on July 22 in Chicago for more than 300 kids.

Chicago-based Wilson and Miller hosted the event to promote tennis among youth.  Kids from Fred’s Camp, a summer camp in Chicago, participated in the free lesson which included 45 minutes of practice drills to teach the fundamentals of tennis. The lesson was held in a gym to accommodate the large number of participants.

“Wilson is committed to growing the game of tennis among youth and what better way to expose them to the sport then through Mark’s efforts to provide a free lesson for hundreds of kids,” James Burda, Manager US Promotions for Wilson Racquet Sports said. “This reinforces the message that youth everywhere can embrace tennis as a fun sport that is both physically and socially rewarding.”

Miller first dreamed up the idea of the world’s largest lesson when he hosted a similar event years ago and has since developed instructional programs at local park districts and day camps throughout Illinois. For more information, visit www.munchkinprogram.com.
